Specialized Aviation SERVICES TRAINING

Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting for Airport & Structural Fire Service

Emergency Services International is uniquely qualified to meet your emergency response training needs.  To be effective, the training must be realistic and accurate.  The responders and their managers must be exposed to situations they will encounter during an actual emergency response.  The curriculum will include all classroom and supplemental materials necessary for ESI to train your personnel in the NFPA 1003 (Standards for Professional Qualifications for Airport Fire Fighters) performance criteria.  The ESI training team will provide your personnel with a learning experience that is matched by none.  The ESI team will come to your, or the departments facility and present all personnel with a challenging experience that will allow them to better understand the facts, conditions, circumstances and factors dealing with the survivability of an aircraft accident at your facility.

Training in aircraft rescue fire fighting is extremely important for all emergency services organizations, regardless of whether their primary function is to provide aviation or structural fire protection.  The success of responding personnel depends upon their training for aircraft fire protection and rescue operations.

The program that will be created for your responders will provide basic information needed by firefighters to effectively perform the various tasks involved in aircraft rescue fire fighting.  Areas that will be covered included:

q    Airport Familiarization

q    Airport Specific Aircraft Familiarization

q    Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Procedures

q    Aviation Fire & Rescue Communications

q    Aviation Fire Prevention

q    Incident Command System (Aviation)

Training Program:

ESI will evaluate the information gathered from preparatory information about your airport and Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting needs.  Then a site-specific basic aircraft rescue fire fighting curriculum will be established and written.  The ESI team will then come to your facility and present your personnel with a 40hr. program that exceeds NFPA 1003 requirements, to introduce Emergency Responders to the basics of Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting skills. ESI also offers 40hr and 24hr Recurrent training that exceeds NFPA 405.  These courses address the conditions surrounding an aircraft incident that makes it different from a structural incident.  It will also demonstrate effective techniques for dealing with the unique situations surrounding an aircraft incident using standard municipal fire department resources and tools

Both the 40 hour and 24 hour exceed FAA ARFF requirements and are also geared for Structural Fire Service training as well.  Each of these courses meet and exceed NFPA Standards, and include training, certificates, and all material needed for up to 15 personnel.  ESI would provide 1 certified instructor with 1 assistant and all materials needed to complete training program.  Training for a Combination Department (24 hour course) is usually done 4 hours each Thursday and Friday nights, and 8 to 10 hours on each Saturday and Sunday.  Sunday is usually the airport exercise.  For a full time department (24 o 40 hour course) the training is done in five consecutive days, still with a maximum of 15 personnel per class.

Do You Have A Specific Need In ARFF Training??  Let us know, we are happy to build courses to fit you needs.
